Infographic: trends in job losses, from 2008 to today

I’ll resist going into any additional political commentary, and just let this speak for itself. As Fast Company rightly puts it, “sometimes a strong, simple infographic says more than words can”.

Not all pleasant, to say the least, but a good sign of where things are going.

Nice visualization of how the credit crisis came about from Jonathan Jarvis, as part of his thesis work at the Art Center College of Design.

While there are similar visualizations floating around that seek to explain what’s happening, think this one does a particularly nice job of covering some of the most complex aspects (explaining the rise of CDOs, for example) while still managing to be engaging and feel quick even at around 11 mins long.

Worth a look. And if you like it enough, you can even grab some COC t-shirts.
